Why Goldust & Cody Rhodes MUST Win Back the Titles

It's been a long time since there has been as much excitement in the WWE Tag Team scene, as there as been since the return of Goldust last Fall.  Goldust (a.k.a. Dustin Rhodes), the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, has perhaps never looked better than he does now.  The chemistry that he and his younger brother Cody have, is nothing short of extraordinary.  Fans love Goldust and Cody "together".

There is much talk about the potential of a split between the Rhodes brothers in an effort to set up a match between the two at the grand stage of WrestleMania 30 in New Orleans.  Cody himself has said he wanted the match and there are reports that it was possibly going to happen last year at WrestleMania 29.  However, there's one problem.  It's not "best for business".

The WWE Universe, me included, love seeing Cody and Goldust as a team.  Maybe at some point a split is the right thing to do.  But if Vince is as smart as we all know he is, he will recognize that the tag team of Goldust and Cody Rhodes is a win-win situation.  These are two guys that could carry the division long enough until there arrives another team who can carry the load.  The tag team division with Rhodes and Goldust at the top has been a huge success.  But there is more success to be had.

I say wait.  Get the titles back around these boys' waists.  Ride this Rhodes wave a little longer.  Let there even be multiple reigns for them in 2014.  Let the feud build.  Right now there's not enough there to have the quality story that these guys could tell if given a little more time.  And then when the time is right....BAM!!!  Do the split.  But not now.  I for one would love to see Cody Rhodes and Goldust versus The New Age Outlaws at WrestleMania!  Regaining the title would a feather in their cap and an add-on to the legacy that these two are building very well.

WWE!!!  Don't do it!!!  Don't split up Cody and Goldust just yet.  Let us, the WWE Universe, enjoy tag team wrestling at its best, for a little while longer.
